Connecting Georgia State's future accountants to real-world opportunities. That's the whole idea, and everything we do comes back to it.
Why this club exists
The Accounting & Tax Society is the student organization for Georgia State students going into accounting, tax, and finance. We started in Fall 2024, and in two years we've grown to more than 440 registered members, 40 events, and over 1,000 student attendances. What we do that a classroom can't is put you in the same room as the profession while you're still a student.
In practice that means a planned calendar every semester. Our flagship is Night with the Big 4, where professionals from Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC come to campus for panels and networking. Around it we run info sessions with the Atlanta offices that are actually hiring, resume and interview workshops right before recruiting season, and socials where classmates become study partners and then, a few years later, your professional network. Firms also send us internships directly. Those go on our Opportunities page with a link straight to the application.
Joining is free and takes about two minutes. Add us on PIN, Georgia State's official student-org platform, then join the GroupMe, where over 470 students already are. There's no application and no prerequisites. Whether you're a freshman still deciding on a major or a senior in the middle of recruiting, you belong here.

A club that keeps its promises
How a club is run says something about the people running it. We try to run ours the way we'd want to run a real engagement.
Every semester is planned
Before classes start, the whole semester is mapped out: dates, rooms, partner firms, and who owns each event. No last-minute scrambles, and no events that get announced and then quietly disappear.
Every task has an owner
Every event breaks down into specific jobs: firm outreach, flyers, room booking, RSVPs, reminders, follow-ups. Each one has a board member's name on it and a deadline we actually keep.
Every event closes the loop
We log the headcount, ask students what they thought, and send the firm a full debrief within 48 hours. That last part is a big reason firms come back.
